DR. T.V. Gopalakrishnan

The Academy of Indian Music and Arts (AIMA), was founded in 1984 by the legendary musician Guruji Dr.T.V.Gopalakrishnan registered as a Charitable trust. Starting off with humble beginnings, it has enabled its students to grow, not just musically, but personally and holistically. The Academy provides a home away from home, shaping individuals ,transforming them from shy children, fearful of strangers, rough around the edges, to poised performers, exuding confidence to be themselves on the international arena.

Devie Neithiyar

Devie, the foster daughter and disciple of Dr.TVG and a musician par excellence who has been hailed as the Angel of Indian Music, has been deeply involved in AIMA’s activities since its inception. She is now passionately working on the day to day and long term developments and international collaborations of Academy of Indian music & Arts (AIMA) and Vidyaapeetam as its Director. A poet, visionary and above all a extremely sensitive humane person, Devie Neithiyar is waiting to be taken into the global arena of the Super Persons!

Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti

Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti is a successful textile industrialist and philanthropist. He is a liberal donor for arts, culture and education. He is the Chairman of Nalli Silks. He is now President of Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, Brahma Gana Sabha, Sri Bhairavi Gana Sabha, Mudhra, Mylapore Fine Arts Club and Chennai Cultural Academy. Vice President of Madras Film Society and Mylapore Academy.[4] He is also a Patron of Tamil Chamber of Commerce,[5] Chetti is also a member in other Chambers like Indo Australian Chamber and Indo-Japan Chamber. Now a Member of the Planning Board of the Tamil University, Thanjavur, he has been a Member of the Senate, Bharathiar University, Member, Central Silk Board and Member, South Zone Cultural Centre, Chennai and Patron of The Madras Progress Union Higher Secondary School.

K N Ramaswamy

Sri. Ramaswamy who is known for his leadership qualities with an even-keeled temperament, charismatic Public Relations skills and a knack for problem solving, associated himself with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on a full time basis from the year 2000 as its Deputy Director in Chennai. His passion and dedication to promote Cultural Values were recognized to be appointed as its Director in 2010. He is now responsible for the Bhavan’s Chennai Chapter in its planning and execution of cultural programmes, language education and imparting computer education to the economically weaker sections of the society and to senior citizens in 10 centers across South India. He is a Committee Member of the Tamil Eyal Isai Nataka Manram. He was an Advisory Committee Member to the Sangeet Natak Academy for UNESCO’s recognition for Creative City Chennai. He has been awarded the Sangeetha Seva Ratna by the Music Academy and Music Forum recently.

Mr. Moulishankar & Mrs. Suganya Moulishankar

Mr. Moulishankar is a business magnate based out of Malaysia. Mr. Moulishankar and his wife Suganya have been greatly inspired and supportive of AIMA. Their philanthropic nature and interest and love for music and art has made their association with AIMA highly appreciated.
